Travel Guide: Dunsborough, WA

With Tama Wellness

One of the most beautiful parts of Australia, in the South West corner of WA, is Dunsborough. Steeped in natural beauty, and with a thriving wellness scene ~ it's the perfect place to land for your next vacation. We talk to Jodie Reynolds, of LAND retailer TAMA Wellness, on her coffee spot of choice, the most idyllic place for an ocean dip, & the must-try post-flight TAMA treatment.

Tell us, who you are, what you do & why did you create TAMA?

I'm Jodie, the owner, esthetician and graphic designer at Tama Wellness a wellness studio offering holistic treatments, infrared sauna and cold plunge therapy in Dunsborough, WA. I purchased the business in 2021 and have been shaping it as a space for our clients to switch off, escape the modern world and drift off into a dream like meditative state. I love creativity and people, in this business I get to build relationships, transform peoples days and lives by making them feel welcome, relaxed and a happy healthier version of themselves.

We want to explore the Dunsborough area this season:

Best place to stay?
There are some really cute airbnb's in the area SolsticeWhalebone + Petit Eco Cabin are beautiful stays!

Where do we go for a good coffee, and what is your coffee order?
I love an oat milk cappuccino from Local, Tiny Coffee, Andys or Dunn Bay Continental and a chai or ceremonial cacao from Naturaliste Health.

Best brunch in town?
Absolutely Meelup Farmhouse! Or Bistro Breton (French Crepes in Busselton)

We want to get active, where do we go to move?
I love the Shift Shack in Yallingup, Pilatays in Busselton.

Best spot for an ocean dip?
There are so many great spots - Castle Rock, Meelup, Eagle Bay and Yallingup are great spots close by, you must go to them all.

Must-try dinner?
Blue Manna is to die for, great cocktails and delicious food - book in advance because they book out fast. Also if you drive down to Margaret River Dahl Daddy's is great!

Cocktail bar or drink spot of choice?
I love the Botanical Elixir at Lady Lola!

Where to shop?
There's lots of cute boutiques in town but you can't go past milc or Laneway Boutique.

And tell us, what are your non-negotiable travel rituals?
The LAND Marine Coconut (Hydration) powder of course and a good hydrating face mask. I’ll always try and get a treatment wherever I go to relax and also be inspired by other therapists.

Must try treatment at TAMA for a post-flight relax?

Ooooft, this is tough, honestly every treatment is great but either go for a 75 minute massage of choice (relaxation, lymphatic drainage, remedial or craniosacral) or our 90 minute TAMA Ritual facial.
