As we welcome the season of celebrations, we look for simple yet beautiful ways to add an element of beauty to each of our holiday meals. From a languid lunch with friends, to an intimate dinner with our most loved ~ we explore five ways to make the moments that little bit more special through table styling.

1. Pick a destination theme:

Think about your table setting as a destination, and be instantly transported. We love the Mediterranean, however somewhere tropical would bring the fun too! An abundance of palm leaves and coconuts would make you and your guests feel like you're sitting island side.

2. Make the table cloth the centre piece:

Let your linens hero your table by choosing unique designs rather than a plain colour. Think hand-painted, colourful, or textured (or all three!). Make a day of it and paint a plain piece of linen prior to your celebrations.

3. Unlikely colour pairings:

Rather than going for a completely neutral table setting, why not clash colours? Combine orange and blue, with green. Or think pink, and red for a fun and festive take on a traditional table. Add colour through candles, ceramics, or glassware.

4. Style with food:

A table setting that you can eat!? Yes please. Thinking back to your destination theme, why not use foods from the region to bring your setting to life. Italy? Style with tomato, and basil (in abundance). Spain? Pile up the citrus fruits, and grapes. Portugal? Think tinned fish. Mexico? A colourful journey of corn would instantly transport you.

5. Set up seaside:

Holidaying near the sea? Set your table up outside, and enjoy the fresh ocean air while sipping cocktails. Add an umbrella for shade.

Setting up an intimate table? Why not style with a sarong.
